7 Farm-to-Table Picture Books for Kids

You know that farm-to-table is an idea that’s taken a turn for the mainstream when
it starts pervading children’s books. Alice Waters, the woman who started the whole
trend in the US in the early ‘70s at her Berkeley restaurant, Chez Panisse, has a new
Fanny book hitting stores in October (Fanny in France, following up her 1997 classic,
Fanny at Chez Panisse). Meanwhile, kids of all ages can learn what the fuss is about
in seven recent titles that help them count their way to salads, explore behind the
scenes at the farmer’s market, and get a little taste of agricultural history.
