Findings: An Illustrated Collection of Quirky Scientific Facts

“Did you know that prairie dogs kiss more often if humans are watching? That people who have just ridden an ‘up’ escalator are twice as likely to donate to charity as those descending? That the rich are more likely to steal candy from children?”

Rafil Kroll-Zaidi has written Harper Magazine’s popular “Findings” column, a selection of one-line summaries about bizarre scientific discoveries, since 2007. Today marks the release of a new Findings book, a collection of quirky facts pulled from Kroll-Zaidi’s column and illustrated by Graham Roumieu.

Kroll-Zaidi chose a handful of the book’s humorous images to share with Paste in this gallery, and you can learn more about the book here.
