In the wake of the ever-increasing allegations against Harvey Weinstein, which range from verbal harassment to rape, Hachette Book Group has decided to terminate their arrangement with their imprint Weinstein Books.
Hachette released the following statement (per EW):
Hachette Book Group has terminated the Weinstein Books imprint, effective immediately. Going forward, titles currently under the Weinstein Books imprint will be published by our Hachette Books imprint, and the Weinstein Books imprint team will join Hachette Books.
Weinstein Books was originally Miramax Books, a publishing imprint Weinstein co-founded with his brother Bob in 2001. It has published a range of fiction and nonfiction books from the likes of Dick Van Dyke, Larry King and many more. The books already set to publish under the label will simply be rebranded as Hachette Books.
