Here, in no particular order, are some of the things that have kept us going this week: dogs, pictures of dogs, very smooth stones, binge-watching Rick and Morty, dumb pundits getting owned on Twitter, mojitos, staying hydrated, waving at a baby in a stroller and the baby waves back at you, the smell of pine trees, pine trees themselves, when the early morning sun strikes the moss on the side of a pine and the moisture on the moss evaporates in a spray of mist, poems by Kay Ryan, the righteous outrage of good people, the limitless incompetence of bad people, Trump being scared of stairs apparently, dark chocolate. It feels mostly wrong to turn to Twitter for jokes and even wronger to laugh at the jokes we find, but we must do what brings us joy if we are to be sane enough to do anything else.
