Patsy Walker, AKA Hellcat! #11

Writer: Kate Leth
Artist: Brittney Williams
Publisher: Marvel Comics

Kate Leth and Brittney Williams' fan-favorite run returns for the newest NOW! era (it's time for a new relaunch banner, Marvel, it's just confusing at this point), packed with as many cat puns as possible as Patsy Walker goes claw-to-claw with frequent Spider-frenemie Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. the Black Cat. For ten issues, Leth and Williams have provided a gentler, more inclusive entryway into the Marvel U., perfect for readers of Squirrel Girl, Lumberjanes and Giant Days, as well as curious Patsy fans from the (much darker) Netflix Jessica Jones. Uninterrupted by the post-Civil War II reshuffling, Hellcat returns with new costar Jubilee (still a vampire) in tow and just as much humor and heart as ever. Steve Foxe

Star Trek: Boldly Go #1

Writer: Mike Johnson
Artist: Tony Shasteen
Publisher: IDW Publishing

It's not a surprise that Star Trek is continuing to enjoy a resurgence during its 50th anniversary, with the new movies continuing apace and impending new TV shows, too. What has been a pleasant surprise is just how good so much of the new content has been. Mike Johnson and Tony Shasteen aren't exactly newcomers to comics or even to Star Trek titles, and it's great to see them tackling Star Trek: Boldly Go as a continuation of the newest movie run. Star Trek Beyond was a return to the best the franchise has to offer, and hopefully Boldly Go can tide us over until Discovery arrives. Caitlin Rosberg
