We’ve given you the top 5 band photo cliches, but how about we give you the good ones now? These photos are well composed and interesting, offering us a display of their unique musical personalities in visual form. While some of them might not totally escape some of the cliches we’ve previously mentioned, the photos that have made it to this collection break the rules enough to contribute something fresh to the familiar.
Some of our favorites include photos from Son Lux, Flume, and Childish Gambino, who all play with lighting in front of and behind the camera to give these photos a unique or colorful infusion. Meanwhile, St. Vincent and FKA twigs have captivated us by their gaze and fantastic styling, forcing us to pay attention to them directly and never letting us go.
