Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Commissions a Massive Tattoo

America’s go-to bourbon brand, Bulleit, recently partnered with a bunch of tattoo artists in Los Angeles to create a massive installation art piece illustrated entirely with tattoo ink. It’s part of the whiskey label’s new Frontier Works series, which celebrates makers and artists who are “pushing the boundaries of the cultural frontier.” The installation was a massive billboard that was created in pieces by 24 separate tattoo artists who were commissioned to portray LA through their own eyes.

The billboard is the first in a series of projects Bulleit is commissioning in Los Angeles and beyond as part of their Frontier Works program, which is designed to celebrate makers and artists “pushing the boundaries of the cultural frontier.” They’re planning another art instillation in Los Angeles in the spring before moving on to other cities throughout the rest of the year.

Bulleit isn’t the first spirits brand to align itself with tattoo artists. Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum’s entire brand is based on the work of legendary tattoo artist Norman Collins.

Take a look at the gallery and see what the tattoo artists came up with for Bulleit. If you’re in the LA area, you can see the installation piece in the Silverlake neighborhood, on W. Sunset Boulevard.
