Every Beer Being Poured at Outside Lands 2017

This weekend is the 10th Anniversary of Outside Lands. Held in San Francisco, this year the three-day music festival includes performances by The Who, Metallica, The Avett Brothers, and Lorde, as well as some appearances by a number of amazing California breweries in Beer Lands, and some of SF’s best cocktail bars in Cocktail Lands.

If you’re headed to the festival and aren’t sure what to drink, we made some selections to help you get started:

Anderson Valley G&T Gose

When it’s insanely hot outside, nothing beats the heat like a gose. The lightly-salted beers are low ABV, which means you can sip on them all day while you’re rocking out. Anderson Valley is pouring the old gose at this year’s festival, their light and refreshing G&T Gose.

Speakeasy Baby Daddy

San Francisco’s Speakeasy almost bit the dust over the past year. Celebrate the San Francisco staple getting a second lease on life with a Baby Daddy, the brewery’s session IPA. The brew is packed with all the flavor of a regular IPA, but has an ABV of just 4.6%, making it an exceptionally drinkable option.

Calicraft Karl the Fog

Beyond all the musical acts, one guaranteed appearance at this year’s Outside Lands will be from Karl the Fog. Fog is all but certain to roll in late in the evening during the festival, as it does. What better drink to have in your hand than its namesake’s beer?

Lost Coast Fog Cutter

Later on, when you’re hoping the fog will part so you can catch a glimpse of The Who or Metallica, grab a Fog Cutter. It likely won’t make anything easier to see, but it can help dull the pain.

Cocktail Lands

While beer definitely outnumbers the cocktails available during the festival, you should absolutely give the cocktail lineup a look. This year’s Cocktail Magic area includes a-la-carte selections from a number of San francisco favorites: Alembic, one of the original pioneers in San Francisco’s craft cocktail movement; Homestead, a Victorian-style parlor bar; Horsefeather, with throwback concoctions playfully named after wine coolers from the 80s and 90s; Pacific Cocktail Haven, new to the city’s cocktail scene and loved for its provocative menu; Trou Normand, a favorite for its laser-like focus on French brandies; and Whitechapel, a celebration of the wonder of gin from the team behind Smuggler’s Cove.
