Where To Drink in Vegas

Las Vegas is one of those places that everyone ends up in at one point or another. Whether you’re in town for a work conference, a wild bachelor party, to catch a few shows, or tie the knot at the hands of an Elvis impersonator — Las Vegas has it all. There’s just one issue: it can often be difficult to find a quality drink.

Vegas has TONS of options (including every casino floor) where you can get a Bud Light or well drink. And let’s not forget all those stands where you can buy a yard (or more) of frozen boozy cocktails to carry with you for the night. If you’re looking for craft beer or an interesting cocktail, however, then you’ve got to look a little harder.

We did a little investigative work during our last trip to Sin City, and came up with a handful of places in town that are worth a look.

Aces and Ales

When it comes to beer, Aces & Ales is some of the best Vegas has to offer. There are two 24-hour locations in Las Vegas, each with over 70 taps to choose from. Both a little bit off the strip, so you’ll need to grab a cab if you’re staying in one of the casinos. The selection, however, is well worth it. Before you head out, check out their live tap list online for a look at what’s on draft. Both locations also routinely host tap takeovers and other beer-related events, so depending on when you visit you might be able to catch something special.

Skyfall Lounge

There are plenty of cocktail bars in Vegas, but none with a view quite like the one at the Skyfall Lounge in the Delano. Getting there involves going up a Willy Wonka-style glass elevator on the side of the building. Once there, the patio has an out of this world 180-degree view of the entire strip. Handcrafted cocktails in the space are created by Proprietors LLC, the same people behind Death & Co. in New York and Honeycut in LA. Stop by for a cocktail and to watch the sun set before heading out on the town, or end your night in the space with a DJ and dance mixes from 9pm to close.

Public House

If you’re attending a conference in the Venetian, the Public House is a must see. The bar is the home to Nevada’s first certified beer cicerone. The bar’s massive beer selection includes local and national craft brews from breweries such as Dogfish Head, Stone, Firestone Walker, and Green Flash as well as a number of international selections.

Harvest by Roy Ellamar

Come for the cocktails, but stay for an amazing dinner. Harvest takes a Farm-to-Table approach to cocktails, offering some unique drinks that you simply won’t find anywhere else. Ingredients for the drinks are sourced locally, and are made primarily using small-batch spirits from outstanding regional distilleries. Cocktails include unique individual drinks, as well as a few options made to share with the entire table. One of our favorites is the Apple N’Rye: Michter’s Rye Whiskey, St. George Spiced Pear Liquor, Apple Cider, fresh lemon juices, cardamon-Vermont maple syrup. It’s served with an ice cube frozen with an apple slice inside. The bar also has a small beer cellar with some epic releases that are bound to catch any beer lover’s attention.
