5 Whiskeys Aged in Beer Barrels

It’s really easy to find a beer that’s been aged in some sort of liquor barrel. Bourbon is the most common, but I’ve seen a ton of rum barrel-aged beers as well as a handful that have been aged in barrels that once held tequila. However, something you see a little less often is the reverse, a spirit that has been aged in a barrel previously used to age beer.

More and more beer-aged booze has started to pop up. The most prominent option is Jameson’s Caskmates, which features the iconic whiskey aged in stout barrels. There are a decent number of other great options out there as well. Check out the gallery above for a look at a few of the best.
