Inside the World’s First Hello Kitty Supermarket

If a trip to your local Sanrio isn’t enough Hello Kitty for you, there is now a Hello Kitty-themed supermarket. You can find the world’s very first Hello Kitty market in Hong Kong. The pop-up (188 Connaught Rd West, Shek Tong Tsui, Hong Kong), which recently opened in February, will be up and running until May. Located inside the Japanese chain YATA, in Sai Wan on the Hong Kong Island, the market offers more than 250 Hello Kitty-themed items like cakes, pastries, sushi, egg rolls, macarons and even Hello Kitty ramen, salad, wine, soy sauce and Hello Kitty apples.

Everything from the shopping carts to the shabu shabu meat is packaged and decorated with the mouth less cat girl? Shoppers who spend HK$300 (US$ 39) or more are eligible to have their receipt scanned by the giant Hello Kitty supermarket personnel statue that will enter you in a lottery to redeem exclusive Hello Kitty prizes.

YATA plans to open a total of three Hello Kitty pop-up supermarkets in Hong Kong in 2017. Flip through the gallery to take a peek at all the kawaii grocery, snacks and other merchandise available.
