Unless you’re an avid surfer or Lego fanatic, there’s a chance you’ve never spent time in Carlsbad, California. But with seven miles of flawless beaches, a bustling farmer’s market, boutique shopping, a farm-to-table culinary scene and unparalleled accommodations, this coastal resort town will quickly become your favorite beachside destination.

The season of warmer weather, growth and revitalization has finally arrived and there are few places that showcase nature’s vibrant explosion of color better than The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Home to 50 acres of blooming Tecolote Giant Ranunculus, also known as the Persian buttercup, the fields are open now through May 14. This spring, in conjunction with the blooming buttercups, the inaugural Petal to Plate by Visit Carlsbad will be taking over the city’s hotels, restaurant, spas and even golf courses.

With 12 flower-immersive culinary and wellness experiences throughout eight venues in the laid-back beach town of Carlsbad, each stop features impressive floral components to entice your palate, sense of smell, and enhance various spa treatments. While roaming through the fields of yellows, pinks and oranges is honestly magical, not to mention prime Instagram material, what makes Petal to Plate an innovative Spring event are the partnerships made between local chefs, mixologists and resort teams and the city of Carlsbad. Creative talents combine with Spring’s bounty for the ultimate series of luxurious experiences.

Moreover, Petal to Plate coincides with this year’s American Grown Field to Vase Dinner Tour, an annual series of private gatherings that place seasonal, local and sustainable American Grown flowers at the center of the table alongside locally grown food, beer, and wine from the region. Petal to Plate by Visit Carlsbad will take place from Thursday, April 20 to Sunday, April 30, 2017, starting with the artisanal Field to Vase dinner.
