Days Gone Has Been Delayed

Days Gone, originally scheduled for a Feb. 22, 2019, release, is now being delayed to April 26, 2019, Sony announced on Friday.

The delay isn’t exactly surprising. BioWare’s Anthem is being released on the same day, along with Metro: Exodus. Crackdown 3 and Ubisoft’s Trials Rising will release in February, as well, and chances are that, by Feb. 22, many people will still be progressing through or replaying the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3, which comes out on Jan. 25, 2019.

Sony has confirmed that this is at least partly why the game has been delayed. “We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019,” says Asad Qizilbash, Sony’s Vice President of Marketing (SIEA). “While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone.”

Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure survival-horror game that takes place in the post-apocalyptic Pacific Northwest. You’ll play as Deacon St. John, a drifter and bounty hunter who lives in a world overrun by “Freakers,” which are basically quickly evolving zombies.

In addition to Days Gone, Sony announced that Everybody’s Golf VR will release in spring 2019, Concrete Genie will release at some point in 2019 and Déraciné will release for PlayStation VR this year on Nov. 6.

Days Gone is due out on April 26, 2019, exclusively for PlayStation 4. Watch a recent trailer for the game right here.
