All good things must come to an end. Though, in the case of Nier: Automata, there are multiple to choose from. While a few of these are simply joke endings allowing you to see interesting “what if” scenarios played out on screen, others aim to expand the story, offering us answers to important questions.
For those completionists out there wishing to see all the game has to offer, we’ve decided to assemble a guide on how to unlock every single one of these endings. What follows is clear instructions on where to go, what to do, and who to kill.
When not glued to the latest release, Jack Yarwood spends his time writing and talking about videogames online. You can follow what he’s up to on his Twitter and on his blog.

Ending A -- flowers for m[A]chines
Ending A is arguably the easiest to unlock. To do this, simply play through the game for the first time as the android 2B. It's that straightforward. There are no tricks or special techniques: just beat the game. This will give you the flowers for m[A]chines credit scene.

Ending B -- or not to [B]e
As soon as you finish Ending A, load your saved data. This will initiate the second playthrough of the game where you assume the role of 9S.
Not much is different on this run, except you have a new hacking ability and occasionally you'll be treated to some original scenarios and cutscenes. Finish the game in this mode and you'll unlock the second ending, entitled or not to [B]e.

Ending C -- meaningless [C]ode
Like before, you'll need to load up the last saved file and finish a new playthrough to unlock this ending.
Work your way through the additional missions, switching between 9S and A2. Then when the time comes to enter the final battle, side with A2 against 9S. Finish him and Ending C will be unlocked.

Ending D – chil[D]hoods end
After obtaining Ending C, you'll earn a chapter select ability. This will let you navigate the game freely and obtain any endings you missed.
Select the chapter just before the final fight between A2 and 9S. This time side with 9S instead of A2. Beat her and you'll receive the fourth ending: chil[D]hoods end.

Ending E -- the [E]nd of YoRHA
Finishing both Ending C & D is necessary to get this ending. Once you've done this -- no matter the order -- you'll obtain the additional conversation that can trigger Ending E.
During the credits, Pod 153 will now request a temporary halt to perform a data check. When given the choice, select yes and you'll initiate a bullet-hell battle through the game's end credits. Get to the other side of this and you'll have finished Ending E.

Ending F -- mission [F]ailed
Ending F is the point in the game when things start getting a little more unclear.
To unlock it, go to the chapter select menu and return to the battle with the goliath at the start of the game. Play as 9S, but this time don't repair any of his systems during the last hacking segment. Let the timer run down instead. This will take a while, but will result in Ending F.

Ending G – hun[G]ry for knowledge
This one I managed to trigger by accident on my second playthrough, so it shouldn't be too hard to get.
To obtain it, go to the start of the second playthrough with 9S and run along the crane. Jump off the end and abandon 2B. This will trigger the ending hun[G]ry for knowledge.

Ending H -- a mountain too [H]igh
The next ending is unlocked during the goliath attack on the city ruins partway through the game.
When you get the call to go and enter the flight units on the rooftop, head in the opposite direction to them and the ending will be initiated soon after.

Ending I -- no [I] in team
This ending can be triggered after the fight with Adam in the Copied City.
Select the chapter before the battle and beat Adam again. Once he's killed and 9S is on the floor wounded, venture away from your friend towards the exit to the Copied City. Ending I will then appear.

Ending J -- bad [J]udgement
Ending J is another ending that will leave you feeling terrible about yourself.
In order to activate it, select the chapter where Pascal and A2 go to visit the robot cultists. However, when you enter, immediately start attacking everyone in sight. You'll promptly be rewarded with a set of credits and another ending.
