To coincide with the extended holiday season, Niantic is launching a Pokémon Go event that will be bringing new goodies to players over the course of two weeks.
From December 25 through the January 3, players can log-in to receive a free Incubator, available as one of the bonus items awarded for signing into a Pokéstop. The Incubators are single-use, and one can be earned for each day of the event. As Pokéstops are also where eggs for the new second generation Pokémon are collected, it’s the perfect time to hatch that Elekid you’ve always wanted.
Additionally, starting on December 30, the duration of Lure Modules will increase from 30 minutes to a full hour, while spawn rates for the starter Pokémon, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur and all their evolutions will increase. Between the two, it should be very easy to catch some of your favorite old school Pokémon. The effect will last through the event’s end on January 8.
