Throughout the years, Tekken has introduced us to well over 70 different characters, each one sporting a unique look and fighting style. From demons to schoolgirls, the Tekken roster is as diverse and varied as they come, but not all fighters are made equal. So who’s the best of the best? We sifted through them all to bring you the 30 best Tekken characters ever made.

30. Roger/Roger Jr. and Alex
Comic relief in its purest form, this pair of anthropomorphic kangaroo and dinosaur fighters are the result of scientific experiments by Kazuya Mishima and the Mishima Zaibatsu. Both characters share a similar boxing-focused fighting stance, allowing them to dish out rapid flurries of punches with the occasional tail whip thrown in for good measure. While Roger's son Roger Jr. is unlikely to make another appearance due to the efforts of animal rights campaigners, we'll always remember his springy stance and plucky spirit.

28. Lee Chaolan
As eccentric as he is flamboyant, Lee Chaolan is an impressive fighter that is more than capable of matching the series' antagonist Kazuya Mishima in strength. An orphan living on the streets, Lee was noticed by Heihachi Mishima due to his ability to fight at such a young age. Heihachi adopted Lee not out of compassion, but to act as a rival for Kazuya during their childhood. Lee would eventually break away from the Mishima Zaibatsu, biding his time while waiting for the opportunity to move in and take over amidst the internal power struggles within the company.

27. Paul Phoenix
While most fighters entering into the Iron Fist tournament do so with a greater purpose, Paul Phoenix simply wants to compete to prove that he is the best fighter in the world. A hot-blooded American Judo practitioner, Paul is best known for his outlandish pillar-like hairstyle. While he may be a reasonably competent fighter, Paul's overconfidence often lands him in trouble along with his friend Marshall Law.

A flashy and resilient fighter, Lars Alexandersson was under the employ of Heihachi Mishima as a commander in the Tekken Force when it was revealed that he was Heihachi's illegitimate son. 21. Panda/Kuma
This ursine duo may not seem like the most obvious choice for a tournament where the world's best fighters gather, but you'd be foolish to underestimate their strength and fighting prowess. Acting as bodyguards to Xiaoyu and Heihachi respectively, Panda and Kuma eventually become romantically entangled. If the thought of them birthing a half panda/half brown bear super bear doesn't sound like a good idea to you, then I don't know what will.
