The end of Telltale’s The Walking Dead is almost upon us and no one is ready. In a new E3 2018 trailer, Telltale Games has teased the final season of its critically acclaimed Walking Dead series, and along with the trailer, Telltale has announced a release date of Aug. 14, 2018 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One title. The game is also slated to arrive on the Nintendo Switch at a later date.
In the teaser trailer, we see an older Clementine trying to comfort AJ as they fish for food by a lake. He laments the lyrics of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” as he says screaming will bring the monsters out. Clem tries to make him understand that the song was before a different time and goes over the rules of the world: Shoot the monsters in the head, save the last bullet for yourself, and if she gets bit … well, you know the rest.
It’s deeply ominous teaser trailer that clearly means more if you’ve followed or played the previous games. Telltale seems to be foreshadowing that Clem could meet an end similar to Lee’s in season one. Your choices will this time affect AJ and his actions as he learns from you. ”A new over-the-shoulder camera system, greater freedom to explore detailed environments, and scenes with unscripted combat create the most engaging The Walking Dead game yet,” teases Telltale. If this is the end for everyone’s favorite girl, then the last season will be a tough road ahead.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season is now available for preorder for $19.99. Those who preorder on the PS4 and the Xbox One will not only receive every episode of this season but also The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection, which bundles all 19 episodes of the previous season together. Meanwhile, PC players can enjoy 10 percent off from several digital retailers (Steam, GOG, GamersGate, or the Humble Store) and Win10 players get the first season for free.
