New on Amazon Prime Video: All the Movies and TV Coming in July

A sweltering summer is upon us, and it’s only looking to get longer and hotter as the days stretch into July. What better excuse is there to curl up with some streaming titles and enjoy the cool comfort of the great indoors? Amazon Prime Video is giving you even more reasons to stay in, as they’re adding some major titles to their streaming service come next month. You can check out a full list of titles below, but here’s a quick rundown of the highlights.

Movies-wise, Amazon is rolling out some notable classics, especially if you’re a fan of filmmaking from the turn of the new millennium. David Lynch’s epic neo-noir Mulholland Drive joins cult hits like American Psycho and V for Vendetta. Golden oldies in the fold include Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Pretty in Pink, Blazing Saddles, and The Graduate. Also of note are some of the niche horror titles coming to Amazon, from seminal rape-revenge film Ms. 45 to Tobe Hooper’s widely panned 1986 Invaders from Mars remake. Prime will also become the sole keeper of sparkly vampire content, as their exclusive claim to the Twilight franchise becomes official in July. All of the aforementioned titles roll out July 1, with some newer flicks coming later in the month like John Cameron Mitchell’s How to Talk to Girls at Parties (July 24) and Jeannette Walls adaptation The Glass Castle (July 27).

As far as TV goes, Amazon is gearing up to release a few new original series, but the streaming service is most notably ushering in a whole slew of procedural dramas. If you’re a fan of police work, keep your eyes peeled for classics both old and new, including 21 Jump Street, NYPD Blue (both of which were featured on Paste’s list of the top 40 greatest cop shows of all time) and Prime exclusive The Closer, plus Burn Notice and Damages, which all come out July 1. The Americans’ final season also sneaks onto Amazon July 29, for those of you who didn’t get to say “Dasvidaniya” to the acclaimed spy drama live.
