The teaser trailer for the forthcoming Amy Winehouse documentary Amy has hit the internet in anticipation for the film’s July 3 British release. Coming four years after the endlessly promising young singer’s tragic death, Amy looks to examine her as not only a singer and performer but a person, trying to both come to a place of recognition for her art and resist the fame that would eventually be laid upon her.

The 2-hour documentary is directed by the BAFTA-winning director Asif Kapaida (2010’s Senna) and tells Winehouse’s compelling and heartbreaking story through intimate and candid footage. In a telling (and chilling) moment in the trailer, a then-unknown Winehouse is asked to give a projection of her fame as a singer, and she says, “I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it; I would probably go mad. I mean, I would go mad.” The film appears to offer a deep glimpse into who Winehouse was before and after fame, and what that transformation ultimately meant to her untimely demise.
