A slew of comedies come along every summer movie season, but many of them are filled with predictability and recycled stories. Usually, however, featured Sundance selections tend to offer a bit more novelty. That seems to be the case in the forthcoming film from director Patrick Brice, The Overnight.
The film stars Adam Scott and Taylor Schilling as parents who have recently moved to Los Angeles. After meeting Jason Schwartzman at a park, they’re invited over for family dinner night and a continued play-date for their children. When Schwartzman’s charmingly whimsical character suggests the couples put the kids to bed and continue their night, things start to swing in a seemingly less innocent direction.
The Overnight is set to hit select theaters on June 19.
