Lucasfilm has revealed the official title for Star Wars: Episode VIII to be The Last Jedi. The studio also revealed the film’s first teaser poster, which you’ll find below.
In appreciation of “the greatest fans in this or any other galaxy,” the company revealed the title in an official blog post shared on StarWars.com.
While details on the forthcoming film are still scarce, director Rian Johnson (Looper, Brick) has said the movie will begin immediately after the ending of The Force Awakens. Other than that, we only have a few leaks, vague comments and loose comparisons from cast members to go off of.
Episode VIII is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, and executive-produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin and Tom Karnowski.
