Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero may be the most confusing artistic partners of all time. The pair are responsible for The Room, a film many believe to be the worst ever made. Now, 15 years later, the pair have reunited for another film, this one titled Best F®iends.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sestero wrote the script for the film, which he also stars in alongside Wiseau. The official description describes Wiseau’s character as “a magician” who takes Sestero’s character on “a wild journey.”
The pair quietly shot the film over the summer, with Gary Fong in the director’s chair. Although no theatrical release date has been set, the pair are hoping to release Best F®iends in the near future. “After watching Best F®iends, your mind will find paradise,” Wiseau told THR.
This is not the only way The Room has returned to prominence recently. James Franco is also making a movie about the making of that film called The Masterpiece. Franco plays Wiseau, with his brother Dave in the role of Sestero. The cast is rounded out by Josh Hutcherson, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Alison Brie and Sharon Stone.
