Wish I Was Here just got its first full trailer, and its got everything you would expect from a movie directed by Zach Braff. Loaded with scenes that walk a thin line between lighthearted comedy and tragic family drama, all set to an indie soundtrack, the movie looks to revisit the themes and tone of Braff’s directorial debut, Garden State.

The Kickstarter-funded film had a teaser trailer released on April 9, which hinted at many of the plot points revealed in the full trailer. The movie, starring Braff, Keri Russell and James Avery in his last role before his death, looks at the turbulent life of a father trying to figure out his life and family relationships amidst the hospitalization of his own dad.

Beyond that, the film also seems to cover a great deal of peculiar ground, with the trailer showing Braff getting punched out in a supermarket, cosplay, an overly blunt rabbi and Jim Parsons in Victorian regalia. Notably, there are also seem to be some sci-fi sequences, with Braff running in a space suit alongside a tiny flying droid.

The film is set for a limited release on July 18 and wide release on July 25.
