Cold War Kids Announce New Album and Fall U.S. Tour Dates, Release Two New Songs

Cold War Kids announced a new album titled New Age Norms, added fall U.S. tour dates and also released two new singles on Tuesday. The first track, “Complainer,” is groovy and undeniably dance-ready, while the second track, “4th of July,” features smooth piano riffs and nostalgic lyrics.

These are the first new studio releases in over two years for the L.A.-based indie-rock group, composed of Nathan Willett (vocals, piano, guitar), Matt Maust (bass guitar), David Quon (guitar, backing vocals), Matthew Schwartz (keyboards, backing vocals, guitar, percussion) and Joe Plummer (drums, percussion).

“For me, the songs are always the most important piece of Cold War Kids,” Willett said in a statement. “And in them, having a strong message and maintaining a positive energy and output—and not just rage and conflict—is so important, and what can set us apart.”

Their most recent album, 2017’s LA DIVINE, spawned the highly streamed tracks, “Love Is Mystical,” “So Tied Up” and “Can We Hang On ?,” among others.
