Father John Misty’s fourth album has finally arrived on this fine New Music Friday. God’s Favorite Customer is the follow-up to the Paste Quarterly-covering artist’s 2017 opus, Pure Comedy, one of Paste’s top albums of last year.
The heartbroken but beautiful God’s Favorite Customer is downright succinct compared to Pure Comedy’s existential sprawl, clocking in at just 38 minutes to its predecessor’s 74. The 10-track effort features singles “Mr. Tillman,” “Just Dumb Enough to Try,” “Disappointing Diamonds are the Rarest of Them All” and “Please Don’t Die,” with the first and last of those songs also receiving the visual treatment.
Father John Misty is currently touring the world in support of his new album. Watch Josh Tillman’s tears fill the screen as you stream God’s Favorite Customer below (or listen via your service of choice here) and revisit the artist’s 2012 Daytrotter Session further down.
