After Thursday’s relatively chill ramp-up, yesterday’s schedule was filled with aughties alt-rock deities peppered with newer festival staples. The last time Weezer, AFI, Franz Ferdinand and OK Go shared a setlist was on a Guitar Hero menu screen, filling the forests of Dover with overdriven riffs and the occasional high hat-driven post punk beat. Banks took a fashion-forward approach to her performance, which resembled a highly erotic wake with shrouded dancers swaying against the R&B pop artist. Wearing ski masks, Ohio duo Twenty One Pilots closed the night with their hybrid hip-hop/indie rock, including lead singer Tyler Joseph taking his Dad out on stage for a cover of DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.” Photographer Julia Drummond captured the antics in the gallery above, and check back tomorrow and Monday for more photos from Firefly 2017.
