Day two of Forecastle Festival may look an awful lot like Pitchfork Day One, with a headlining set from LCD Soundsystem and support from Vince Staples. (But who are we to lobby that bomb at a summer season that was essentially a Lorde/Chance the Rapper/The xx triple bill?) There are worse things than watching James Murphy compel thousands of people to dance themselves clean, though. Ascending roots icon Sturgill Simpson has also been selective in his festival appearances, navigating around marquee gatherings like Lollapalooza and Coachella (he played both in ‘15) to hit Okeechobee last April and Waterfront Park yesterday. Photographer Cortney Armitage continues her journey through the Louisville fest staple, with additional photos of Beach Fossils, K.Flay and The Shelters. Check back tomorrow for our final day of coverage featuring Weezer and Tuesday for Armitage’s portrait gallery.
