Janet Jackson Announces New Album, Summer Tour

Janet Jackson will be releasing a new album, Black Diamond, and embarking on a tour to boot, the aptly titled Black Diamond World Tour.

The five-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer discusses her forthcoming project in an Instagram post, saying, “I see myself as a Black Diamond in its purest form. I’m a rock, I have ruff edges but I keep moving forward. I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength.” Jackson will also be performing Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989) as a part of her tour.

Before Black Diamond, Jackson’s most recent albums were Unbreakable (2015) and Discipline (2008). Jackson wrapped up Metamorphosis, a Las Vegas residency, in August 2019.

I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength. — I love u guys so much and I’m #SoExcited to share this new era with you.
