Nashville duo "Johnnyswim": https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2014/05/johnnyswim-the-best-of-whats-next.html, a.k.a. power couple Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez, released their third studio album, Moonlight, in April. They stopped by the Paste studio beforehand to play three tunes from the album, "The Last Time," "Flowers" and "Bridges." The first of those features the smooth stylings of blue-eyed soul legend Michael McDonald (who did not appear in the studio), as he provides back-up vocals while the now-married couple recall their first encounter. "It's actually about the first time Abner and I saw each other," Sudano "said": https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2019/03/johnnyswim-full-session2.html during the session. "He said to the girl sitting next to him, 'That's the girl I'm going to marry.' And the girl next to him--who was his date--said, 'Well, you better go talk to her. And I think this is over.'"
