After a truncated debut, Lollapalooza packed in a full sophomore day with a few surprises despite the brief threat from overhead storm clouds. Joey Purp rhymed over halcyon ‘70s rockers, Whitney, and Vic Mensa performed unannounced on Perry’s Stage. The best scheduled sets were often volatile, cathartic and sweaty—Run the Jewels whipped up the Grant Park stage into a mosh pit frenzy and Toronto punk upstarts PUP ignited the smaller Tito’s stage early at 2 PM. Sarah Hess returns with another gallery that also features Scandinavian pop muse Skott, Tegan and Sara, The Districts, Blink-182 and more. Check back tomorrow for more photos from Lollapalooza 2017.
