Paste met up with neo-classical composer Molly Joyce earlier this week to celebrate the creator’s debut EP, Lean Back and Release. Energetic, heady and blisteringly emotive, the tracks skitter and sway through bold violin arrangements with electronic flourishes. Joyce’s release party at 1 Rivington featured Kristin Lee, concertmaster of the Metropolis Ensemble, performing the title tune with Joyce playing new song “Form and Deform” on a mini-organ. Check out the music video for Shapeshifter here and photographer Sarah Midkiff’s shots in the gallery above.
