It was another year for the history books at Fort Adams this year as Newport Folk Festival descended upon the park for a weekend rife with collaborations, surprise appearances and an undeniable sense of community. From kicking off with a surprise set from My Morning Jacket—they later joined the heavenly frontwomen of Lucius to back Roger Waters’ set—to closing out the weekend with an all-star cast of talent in a Bob Dylan sing-along for ‘65 Revisited, Newport Folk has proved once again that it holds itself to a different standard than your average music festival.
