Over the Rhine’s core members are husband and wife duo Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist. Together, the two Ohioans have been working to restore a 140-year-old barn and convert it into a performing arts center. In order to continue this labor of love, the couple is holding a music and arts festival, with all of the proceeds going to continue the project.
The Nowhere Else Festival will be held Memorial Day weekend on May 28 and 29 in Martinsville, Ohio. Here is what Detweiler said of the fest:
Karin and I have curated and confirmed a lineup of some of our favorite musicians, writers, photographers, painters, naturalists and foodies. Quite a number of the
participants have profoundly inspired us over the years, and directly influenced the
music we have made and the people and artists we have become. We are going to
share some of these favorite people with our extended musical family and let you be
inspired as well.
Confirmed artists and bands include The Blind Boys of Alabama, Joe Henry, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Lily and Madeleine, Birds of Chicago, The Comet Bluegrass All-Stars, Katie Laur, Levon Henry, Over the Rhine and the Band of Sweethearts.
