Amber Bain—the mastermind behind the chill, wavering electropop outfit, The Japanese House—performed a sold-out show at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right venue last week. Bain worked through tracks from all three of her EPs—Pools to Bathe In, Clean and the recent Swim Against the Tide—as a small sea of millennials swayed with their phones held high. Paste photographer Drew Reynolds captured portraits, soundcheck and the surrealist show. The Japanese House is touring extensively in the United States and Europe through May.
