Though last weekend’s first Meadows Music and Arts Festival is grabbing headlines for Kanye’s mid-set cancellation to aid his wife, the bigger surprise was how relaxed, enjoyable and successful a new addition to the NYC festival circuit could be. Credit the move to Queens’ Citi Field or the rounded lineup, but Founders Entertainment—who also run Governors Ball on Randall’s Island—could well consider their debut outing a success. Paste’s own DeShaun Craddock was there to photograph the weekend, featuring crowd movers like Chance the Rapper and The 1975 alongside indie darlings Savages and Grimes, just to name a few.
