Everyone’s favorite garage-rock revivalists, The Strokes, debuted a new song at a special hometown benefit in Los Angeles on Monday.
Julian Casablancas and company performed “The Adults Are Talking” at The Wiltern to support The Center in Hollywood and Food Cycle LA. The organizations aim to end isolation and homelessness, eliminate hunger and minimize food waste.
The band will hit the road this summer, starting with a spot headlining Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on May 20.
“It’s always fitting to have an iconic band come back into the market with unprecedented fanfare,” said Live Nation Toronto President Erik Hoffman in a statement. “When we envisioned what the perfect act would look like to properly fit such a monumental event kicking off our 25th Anniversary, no one could’ve fit the bill better than The Strokes. We’re glad Toronto and Canada agree. A sold-out event for one of rock music’s treasures.”
Plan your next road trip around the band’s tour dates below, including upcoming sets at Governors Ball and Lollapalooza, and enjoy their overwhelmingly blue performance of “The Adults Are Talking.” Last we heard, The Strokes were plotting a global comeback in 2019, so surely there’s more where this came from.
