Canadian singer/songwriter Matt Lowen is Brian Lowen’s Kid…
An entertainer, disaster artist, Canadian psycho and, above-all, a storyteller, the kid is Hamlet turned folk-singer. His songs & stories are infused with poetic intensity and a graveyard sense of humour.
The Victoria-based songwriter crafts literate songs wrapped in tuneful melodies that reward careful listening. The music is simple, fun & accessible and is bolstered by a quick wit, golden voice, & rich lyrical content.
The Kid’s third album AND THE DEVIL MAKES FIVE was released on April Fool’s Day 2018. The first single THE DEVIL MAKES FIVE is an uptempo folk-rock drinking ballad that sounds like Tom Petty singing Gram Parsons singing George Jones. RIP.
Matt wrote all of the tracks on AND THE DEVIL MAKES FIVE himself & recorded and co-produced the EP with Rick Genge at Spiderlodge Studio in the Fraser Valley, BC. It was mixed by Mark Gordon & Rick Genge and mastered by Brock MacFarlane of CPS mastering.
