"Mother Tongue" was written a year and a half before it's release. I'm not sure why it took so long to get this song out of me. I had re-worked through the song for months - and out of last resort I sent it over to a friend. I believe with the touches Taylor added, it has become a complete-ish collaborative piece. Maybe there are more versions of the song to come in the future, but for now, this is the form "Mother Tongue" takes...
