"The Gap" and "The Bar" are two singles from Lo Marie's upcoming album, also titled "The Bar."

"The Bar" is a beautiful jazz song pulling references from jazz greats like Carmen McRae, Julie London, Jane Monheit, and Sara Gazarek. “In the loneliness of missing someone, I questioned “the bar” I had set for my partner. Where is the line between having moral standards and judging another person? In the end, I found that there are some things love shouldn’t conquer, even if it could.”

Lo Marie’s new single “The Gap” is funky and fresh and bold – just like her. Recognizing that music not only has the power to tap into people’s emotions, but that it also has the power to bring change, Lo Marie has made it her mission to raise awareness for an important social issue. Releasing her funky jam “The Gap” during Women’s History Month, she makes an unabashed statement: The gender pay gap has got to go. While the song is lyrically hard-hitting, it also has an insatiable and irresistible groove. The hooks will have you singing along and feeling good, just like James Brown would want you to do.
