Lisa Kudrow Set to Narrate Bright Futures, New Comedy Pilot From Black-ish Creator Kenya Barris

The cast for Black-ish creator Kenya Barris’ Bright Futures is starting to take shape, as Lisa Kudrow (Friends, The Comeback) will be the narrator for the NBC comedy pilot, according to Deadline.

In addition sitcom veteran Kudrow serving as the narrator, the show’s cast is filled with up-and-coming stars from all facets of media. Model/actress Emily Ratajkowski (Gone Girl), Shameik Moore (The Get Down, Dope), Calum Worthy and Jimmy Tatro (both of American Vandal), and YouTube personality-actress Lilly Singh (Fahrenheit 451) round out the main cast as Sarah, Aaron, Danny, Berger and Sid, respectively.

Originally a project for Barris’ home base ABC, Deadline describes the ensemble comedy as “a group of friends all stumbling through the transition from the clueless, immature twentysomethings they are now to the successful professionals they’re destined to be.” After ABC stalled on the project, NBC saw the potential and green-lit it in February. Barris will executive produce the project through his company Khalabo Ink Society with Grown-ish writers Hale Rothstein, Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis serving as co-executive producers.

As of now, the project is in the pilot stage. But with upfronts just a few months away, we’ll soon know whether the pilot will get a series order.
