New on Netflix: All the Movies and TV Coming in April

Coming up in April, we’ve got a series of new TV shows and movies coming to Netflix. This includes the second season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Check out our featured movie recommendations below, and read on for the full list of new streaming content.

A Clockwork Orange

Year: 1971
Director: Stanley Kubrick
Available: April 1
One of Stanley Kubrick’s many filmic masterpieces, A Clockwork Orange was first created as a novella by Anthony Burgess in 1962. A satire portraying a society that includes a culture of extreme youth rebellion and violence, A Clockwork Orange is a careful examination of violent animalistic tendencies within humans and our freedom to choose between good and evil. The obsessive vanity lends a sense of stylish mania and sophistication to the horrific doings.—Brian Tremmi & Roxanne Sancto

Best In Show

Year: 2000
Director: Christopher Guest
Available: April 1
Coming smack dab in the middle of Guest-Levy’s improvisational collaborations, Best in Show saw everyone involved working at their best. With a series of memorable characters all determined to win the Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show, the film had no end to unforgettable moments and lines. Where Waiting for Guffman came first, and A Mighty Wind raised the style to a new art form, Best in Show displayed why this team—from its creators to its actors—had a special gift for this particular type of storytelling.—Amanda Wicks

Breathe

Year: 2014
Director: Mélanie Laurent
Available: April 1
Nothing’s more effective at shaking a teen out of their monotonous high school routine than the arrival of a new student. That’s the stuff actress/director Mélanie Laurent’s sophomore film, Breathe, is made of: mystery and allure, with generous dollops of adolescent rivalry, sexual awakening and verbal abuse spooned on top. Think of Breatheas a distant European cousin to the fraught teen movies of Larry Clark as well as Catherine Hardwicke’s Thirteen, stories of imperiled youth, loneliness and volatile sentiment. —Andy Crump

Begin Again

Year: 2014
Director: John Carney
Available: April 7
John Carney mines familiar turf in the comedy-drama Begin Again, starring Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley. The writer and director of Once (2006) traverses the pond to return to the music world, this time substituting Dublin for a romanticized version of New York City. The performances in the film are first-rate…even as a drunk ne’er-do-well, Ruffalo brings a relatable charm to Dan…the “feel-good” film ends on a bittersweet note, adding realism to save Begin Again from becoming too much like Carne’s original hit. —Christine N. Ziemba
